Ohhhhhh and the neighborhood a bit north of Boystown called Andersonville is also very gay and has several gay bars. While you’re there get Stan’s donuts and visit the local book shops and things. Order the cinnamon rolls for sure and their biscuits and gravy and cheese hash yum! And that’s next to Ann Sather’s breakfast spot which I highly recommend if you stay out late enough to watch the sun come up.
On Broadway… the closet is a cute hole in the wall that has been there like 100 years (not exaggerating). I’ve never seen anyone go into Fantasy night club so I’m not sure what they do there… Cell Block is like leather I think… I have heard wild stories… And there’s A few other gay dive bars around that area (the north end, Bobby loves) and then Charlie’s which is popular cause it’s open later than everyone else. Going north of side track/ roscoe there is Replay which is like an arcade bar, super fun… across the street is hydrate which gets packed VERY LATE (like 3am) this one is for circuit boys if that’s your thing.Ĭontinuing North you find Kit Kat Lounge which is a Gaysian lounge with drag and cute (well) martinis. On Halstead there’s a gay strip bar, Horseshoe which has the cheapest drinks in the area. That’s sort of the main part… but you can continue to explore… heading south you find Scarlett (very small bar) which plays hip hop which is next to the bathhouse Steamworks if you’re curious. Next to Roscoe’s is DS Tequila which is a great Tex-mex & wing spot during the day but turns into a trashy nightclub at night (too many straight girls). Across the street is Roscoes which does great theme parties and drag nights. Wood is next to splash which is a classy cocktail place. Side track is flanked by two smaller dance bars Splash (more house music) and Progress (more hip hop and Spanish).
Side Track is kinda the main bar it’s definitely the biggest.
